Recruiter and Admissions Advisor
Job Description
Gateway Community & Technical College invites applications for a Recruiter and Admissions Advisor. This full-time position will be responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with area high schools to increase enrollment at Gateway and will facilitate events and activities that produce matriculation to Gateway as first-year students.
Job Responsibilities
- Establish a Gateway presence at area High Schools by attending events, fostering relationships with counselors, and maintaining a presence on their campus/location.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate information sessions about Gateway for parents, high school personnel, and students.
- Coordinate program-specific recruiting events at area high schools or on campus.
- Establish a Gateway presence in the community to increase the adult learner student population on campus and online.
- Coordinate with the Diversity Team to develop programming and recruitment efforts for underrepresented populations.
- Assist with additional recruitment events towards matriculation with dual credit and traditional students when needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- One year of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Excellent organizational skills; great attention to detail; independent; self-motivated; able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with many individuals at all levels throughout the internal college environment and external business and community partners, representing himself/herself professionally and courteously.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
- Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Word).
Preferred
- Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred.
- Experience working at the community college level is preferred.
