Support & Re-engagement Specialist

Job Description

The Coordinator of Support & Re-engagement provides outreach, customized admission, financial aid, enrollment support, and case management to Gateway’s 2nd Chance student population. It is also responsible for assisting the Director with planning and implementing student engagement and leadership activities.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops, manages, and updates a comprehensive 2nd chance student communication plan that will be included in the Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) communication calendar.
  • Collaborates with admission, financial aid, and business office to customize a re-engagement plan for Gateway’s 2nd chance students.
  • Provides direct service with 2nd chance students and other at-risk student populations, including communicating with students, scheduling meetings, developing customized re-engagement plans, determining student referral needs, and monitoring students’ progress.
  • Assist the Director in developing programming encompassing student co-curricular programming, student organizations, and student leadership, which builds a supportive & connected community for our students.
  • Participates in the college’s SEM planning, including serving on an SEM sub-team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 2-4 years experience.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail; independent; self-motivated; able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with many individuals at all levels throughout the internal college environment and external business and community partners, representing himself/herself professionally and courteously.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Word).

Preferred

  • Master’s degree or equivalent and 4-6 years experience.
  • Understanding of college admissions and financial aid process.
  • Previous experience with case management.
  • Experience in student co-curricular programming, student organizations, and student leadership.
  • Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations.
  • Experience working at the community college level.
