Pride Events in Black Cincinnati: Celebrations of LGBTQ+ Pride and Black Culture

Riots against police brutality led by Black queer and trans folks paved the way for Pride as it is celebrated today. The Black and queer liberation movements are fundamentally interconnected. The following pride events in Black Cincinnati aim to highlight the unique experiences of Black members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Enjoy parades, parties, festivals, film viewings, performances, and more around the greater Cincinnati area. Black pride events provide spaces where Black LGBTQ+ individuals can be seen, celebrated, and embraced.

2024 Cincinnati Black LGBTQ+ Pride Events

Pride Block Party Symphony Concert

June 6
6 p.m.
The ICON Festival Stage at Smale Park (The Banks)
Free Admission
Enjoy music and art activations, activities for all ages, and food trucks from local vendors. The party is capped off with an outdoor concert by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

Pride Night with the Reds

June 7
7:10 p.m.
Great American Ball Park (The Banks)
Starting at $25
Join the Reds and Cincinnati Pride to celebrate Pride Night at the ballpark as they take on the Cubs! Tickets will include a special limited edition Reds Pride cap. Enjoy a performance by Sam the Bald Eagle from the Cincinnati Zoo and a post-game fireworks show.

Sapphic Factory: a modern queer joy dance party

June 14
8:30 p.m.
Bogart’s (Clifton)
Starting at $16.50
Guests 18+ can dance and be free to the music of various LGBTQ+ artists. $1 per ticket supports the LGBT National Help Center.

SingOUT Cincy Festival Chorus

June 18
8 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Christ Church Cathedral (Downtown)
Free Admission
SingOUT Cincy Festival Chorus is a Pride Month celebration of queer songs and stories. The program highlights LGBTQIA+ composers from history and the present day, brought to life by a chorus of volunteer singers.

Cincinnati Pride Parade

June 22
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Corner of 7th and Plum (Downtown)
Free Admission
Begins at 7th & Plum, travels down Vine Street past Fountain Square, and ends at Sawyer Point & Yeatman’s Cove. The parade features various performers, floats, organizations, and more.

Cincinnati Pride Festival

June 22
Noon – 9 p.m.
Sawyer Point Park & Yeatman’s Cove (Riverfront)
Free Admission
Cincinnati Pride provides the Greater Cincinnati LGBTQ+ community with a forum that promotes inclusion and acceptance while affirming individuality. Enjoy booths with LGBTQ+ organizations, businesses, artists, and vendors. Check out drag shows, dance performances, DJs, and more.

Cincinnati Black Pride aims to mobilize the Black LGBTQ+ Community to promote the health, education, awareness, and social and cultural wellness of people in Greater Cincinnati living at the intersection of Black and LGBTQ+ identity.

Cincinnati Black Pride puts on an LGBTQ+ film festival each year in June. The organization also hosts the annual Vizazi Torch Awards. The awards honor Black Greater Cincinnatians committed to improving the quality of life for Black Queer and Trans folks.
