City Belle Fried Pies

City Belle Fried Pies is a Black-owned full-service food truck specializing in sweet and savory fried pies and cake slices. Fried pies originated in the southern region of the United States many years ago. The pies are similar to turnovers, containing a sweet or savory filling in a flaky pie crust. Owner Shannon Holt wanted to create an environment of nostalgia for customers to enjoy wholesome, scratch-made sweet and savory fried pies.

About the Owner and Business

In the year 2020, City Belle Fried Pies was born. Several years ago, Shannon had become disenchanted with the quality of prepackaged hand held pies. Not only disappointed by the taste of preservatives but also disappointed with the quality of the less-than-desirable crust.

Shannon often made sweet fried pies for family, starting with apples, cherries, and peaches. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the crust recipe was perfected. Encouragement from two sons led to fried pies being sold at the farmers market, consistently selling out each week. In 2022, a food truck was purchased to bring warm, freshly fried pies to the community.

The Mission

The mission of City Belle Fried Pies is to create an environment of nostalgia for customers to enjoy scratch-made sweet and savory fried pies. The Black-owned dessert food truck is dedicated to providing convenient hand-held treats efficiently and quickly while providing top-notch customer service.
