Switch Lighting & Design is dedicated to the idea that light has a unique power to liven the senses and elevate the spirit. Lighting is a modern art that must be part of everyday living in our homes and public spaces.
The lighting showroom in downtown Cincinnati was founded in 2008 by Drew Dearwester and Bertie Ray III. They now serve clients from around the region and in cities from New York to San Francisco.

Drew Dearwester and Bertie Ray III opened Switch in 2008 on historic Vine Street in downtown Cincinnati. They now serve personal and commercial clients throughout the region and from New York City to San Francisco.
Drewâs remarkable sense of style and expert knowledge of lighting, developed over two decades in the business, will bring surprising and pleasing new ideas to your home or commercial project. Drew was born in Cincinnati in the years just before the Big Red Machine.
Bertie, a businessman and entrepreneur, thrives on bringing the big idea to life. His career as the Man Who Gets Things Done has taken him up the East Coast, through long years in Manhattan, and now to Cincinnati with his lovely wife and daughter. A graduate of NYU, Bertie is active in numerous philanthropic and cultural arts endeavors, including the board of the Cincinnati Opera. Bertie was raised in Washington, D.C. during the Nixon administration.
