Cincinnati Red Bike is set to pause operations on January 12, 2024, and will resume in the early spring. The bicycle-sharing service will work with customers to extend passes or issue refunds depending on each case.

About Red Bike Cincinnati Rentals

Cincinnati’s non-profit station-based bike share system, Red Bike, serves parts of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky with 700 bikes out of 70 stations. Red Bikes are a fun way to get around Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky neighborhoods. Ditch the car and get on a Red Bike! 

Red Bikes allows people to explore and appreciate the unique character of various areas, such as Downtown Cincinnati, Newport, and OTR. Red Bikes are also an excellent way to avoid parking and traffic concerns in the busy neighborhoods of Cincinnati.  

Traveling between neighborhoods has never been easier! The Red Bike app allows people to easily access Red Bikes in over 15 Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky neighborhoods. Being so accessible, Red Bikes are always available for riders!

Red Bike Cincinnati Map and Routes

Red Bikes are available in over 15 Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky neighborhoods, ensuring everyone can ride one! Check out the Red Bike map with all of the different stations.  

Check out some safe community bike routes. Routes are available for downtown Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, the East Side, and more. 

Red Bike Cincinnati Activation Directions

  1. Go to the Red Bike Station kiosk and purchase a Day Pass by selecting Start> Checkout Bike> New User. Riders need valid credit for payment, zip code, and mobile phone number. 
  1. Once a pass is set up, select the dock number icon for the bike to check it out. The dock will beep for 30 seconds. Go over and tug the handlebars to disengage the bike from the dock. Adjust the seat and ride!

Red Bike Cincinnati Cost and Rates

Rates effective January 1     

Day Pass $12 

Day Pass can be used 24 hours, with unlimited 60-minute rides and 24-hour station access. A day pass can be purchased online or at one of the stations. A credit card is required. 

Monthly Pass $30 

Monthly Pass allows unlimited 90-minute trips per 30 days. This must be purchased online. 

Annual Pass $150 

Annual Pass can be used 24/7. This must be purchased online. The user will receive a bike card. 

Red Bike Go Pass $5 

Red Bike Go Pass is for people with a household income at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines.  

Examples of eligibility:  

  • Receiving food assistance, such as SNAP, WIC, or TANF.  
  • Receiving energy assistance, such as HEAP or PIPP 
  • Being a client of a Partner Organization or having Medicaid/care 

Eligible individuals can sign up for Red Bike Go or renew Red Bike Go Memberships online. Cash payments can be made in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 111 a.m. to 4 p.m. Payments can be made at the Red Bike Shop at 600 Central Avenue.

A Cincy Red Bike Day Pass grants unlimited 24-hour access to bikes and all stations. A credit or debit card is required for purchase. Download the Red Bike Bicycle App to begin riding even faster.

FAQ’s

Remember, to avoid overage fees, the bike must be returned every two hours. It can be checked right back out at no extra charge. Check out these frequently asked questions about the Red Bikes.  

If a bike is not checked in appropriately, 4 dollars every 30 minutes will be charged. This can add up to a maximum of $20 for the day. Do not forget to wear a helmet, and have a happy ride! 

Red Bike encourages riders to wear helmets while cycling. However, helmets are not provided for riders. It is recommended to bring a helmet or purchase one from a local bike shop.
