Join YWCA Greater Cincinnati for the inaugural Mission Forward Speaker Series, an inspiring evening of conversation, reflection, and action featuring renowned legal scholar, civil rights advocate, and social justice leader Professor Anita Hill. This new annual event is designed to spark meaningful dialogue, mobilize the community, and advance YWCA’s mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
The Mission Forward Speaker Series brings nationally recognized voices to Cincinnati to explore today’s most pressing social issues while equipping the community to lead with courage, purpose, and action. Whether you are a community leader, advocate, student, nonprofit professional, or someone passionate about creating a more equitable future, this evening offers an opportunity to learn, be inspired, and become part of the movement forward.

About Keynote Speaker Anita Hill
Anita Hill is an attorney, educator, author, and leading advocate for civil and human rights who has dedicated her career to advancing equality in the workplace and society. The youngest of 13 children raised on a farm in rural Oklahoma, she earned her J.D. from Yale Law School in 1980 and went on to serve at the U.S. Department of Education, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where she became the institution’s first tenured African American professor.
Hill has chaired the Human Rights Law Committee of the International Bar Association, serves on numerous nonprofit and civic boards, and advises on workplace discrimination cases as counsel to Cohen Milstein. A bestselling author and sought-after speaker, she has written and edited several influential books on gender, race, and justice, earned numerous honorary degrees and civic awards, and remains one of the nation’s most respected voices on civil rights and social change.
About YWCA Greater Cincinnati
Founded in 1868 as the fifth YWCA association in the United States, the YWCA Greater Cincinnati has always tackled women’s issues. At its inception, YWCA championed initiatives including a women’s employment bureau, minimum wage, protective labor laws, women’s suffrage, and job training for women.
YWCA Greater Cincinnati was at the forefront of racial justice advocacy, establishing the first integrated cafeteria where interracial groups could eat in the 1950s.
Since the 1970s, YWCA Greater Cincinnati has provided services to victims of intimate partner violence and their children.

Memorial Hall Venue Details
Parking
The most convenient parking option is directly across the street at the Washington Park Garage. Use the Cincy EZ Park App to pay for parking as appropriate. Take the Cincinnati METRO to the venue.
Accessibility
Memorial Hall’s basement, first floor, and second floor are fully accessible. The preferred method is to use the patron elevator located on the north side of the building, which can be accessed on the street level.
Additionally, the Annie W. and Elizabeth M. Anderson Theater is equipped with several wheelchair- and scooter-accessible seating locations. For additional information on accessible seating, please call the Box Office at 513-977-8838.
