Job Description
A day in the life of an Early Intervention Service Coordinator is a dynamic and fulfilling journey dedicated to empowering families with young children who have developmental needs. Starting with an early morning review of case files and schedules, the coordinator liaises with various families, caregivers, and specialists, fostering strong relationships and ensuring personalized support.
Throughout the day, they lead assessments, collaborate with healthcare providers, and advocate for necessary services, all while providing emotional guidance and educational resources. This role involves continuous adaptation and innovation, seeking the best ways to nurture the growth and development of the children under their care, significantly impacting their future well-being.
This role requires in-home visitations with families we serve. It operates on a hybrid–remote schedule. When the nature of the work allows, job duties can be conducted remotely.
Office Location (for use during training, for team meetings, and when needed after that): HCDDS Support Center, 1520 Madison Road, Cincinnati, OH 45206
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with families to identify individual needs and goals.
- Conduct assessments to determine developmental needs.
- Develop and implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) for a caseload of approximately 65 families.
- Coordinate and facilitate early intervention services.
- Coordinate the funding sources for early intervention services.
- Connect families with appropriate healthcare providers and support services.
- Facilitate the development of a transition plan to preschool or other services.
- Advocate for children and families within the healthcare and educational systems.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of children and the effectiveness of intervention services.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in audiology, child and family studies, child development, child life, counseling, education, hearing and speech sciences, human development, human ecology, human social services, medicine, nursing, nutrition science, occupational therapy, ophthalmology, optometry, physician’s assistant, physical therapy, psychology, rehabilitation, social work, or speech/language pathology.
- Eligible to obtain the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) early intervention service coordinator credential.
- Valid driver’s license; meets Board’s requirements for driver insurability.
- Have a passion for improving others’ lives, demonstrated through superior customer service.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and an appreciation for the work behind providing social services to the community.

- 35-hour work week, generally between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

- One week of paid vacation and 15 sick days immediately allocated upon hire. Three personal days are provided per year, pro-rated with an employee start date. Starting vacation accrual of 3 weeks per year. Sick time accrued 15 days per year after the first year of employment with an unlimited accrual.
- The starting salary range is determined by a formula accounting for years of experience: $45,240.00 (base rate) to $54,600.00 (10 years of experience performing this same job or job with primarily the same duties.)
