Cincinnati is a breeder of great music artists that are known nationally and internationally. We spent some time compiling a list of our favorites. Take a listen to your favorite Cincinnati artist and some of Ohio’s finest musical talent on Soundcloud. No download is necessary to listen from your cell phone or your computer. This is the perfect playlist to listen to in your car on the drive to work, or Spring-cleaning your house. Whatever you choose, you will not be disappointed.

Turn up the volume and listen to our playlist.

Representing R&B
This smooth playlist features songs from The Isley Brothers, John Legend, Midnight Star and more. We know The Isley Brothers are from Cincinnati but what about John Legend and Midnight Start? Well Mr. Legend is from Xenia Ohio. Midnight Star originated right across the bridge in Frankfurt, Kentucky.

Representing Hip-Hop
Turn up the bass and nod your head to the rhymes of Hi-Tek. This Cincinnati artist is not only a rapper, but a producer as well. Hi-Tek is widely known for producing the albums of Talib Kweli and Mos Def.

Representing Funk
A Cincinnati playlist could not be made without the vocals of Bootsy Collins. The Ohio Players and Zapp & Roger are also featured on this list. While Bootsty Collins and Zapp & Roger are from Cincinnati, The Ohio Players hail from Dayton, Ohio.

If there are more Cincinnati artist that we have missed, let us know at The Voice of Black Cincinnati

We can add to this playlist as much as you like.  You never know what Cincinnati artist we’ll put up next!
