Features a diverse, encyclopedic art collection of over 73,000 works spanning 6,000 years. In addition to displaying its broad collection, the museum hosts several traveling exhibitions annually. Guests can also utilize the Art Climb at the corner of Gilbert Avenue and Eden Park Drive, incorporating a lighting component that guides visitors toward the museum.

Taft Museum of Art

Sundays and Mondays are free!

Restored and reinterpreted for the next century, visitors can enjoy special exhibitions, an outdoor garden, a museum shop, and Lindner Family Café, as well as events and programming for all ages. Enjoy a one-of-a-kind, multi-sensory experience that puts guests at the center of art and history. 

Contemporary Arts Center

Bringing art and the creative process to all people through exhibitions, performances, and experiences that open minds. Located on the sixth floor, the Creativity Center features art installations by local artists that encourage guests to engage with the work by pressing buttons, mixing beats, drawing characters, building sculptures, dancing, and more!

2. Learn about Black History at The Banks

Stroll along the scenic Cincinnati banks on a journey celebrating Black History. Visitors can embrace Cincinnati’s diverse African American heritage with an impressive collection of statues, an outdoor Black musician exhibit, and a museum.

National Underground Railroad Freedom Center

Sharing the stories of freedom’s heroes from the era of the Underground Railroad to contemporary times through traveling and permanent exhibits. Guests are now greeted by an 11-foot statue of one of history’s greatest heroes until the end of April. Harriet Tubman, famous as a conductor on the Underground Railroad, is enshrined in a traveling bronze statue called The Beacon of Hope.

Black Brigade Monument

8 W Mehring Way, 45202 (The Banks)
Admission is free
During the 150th anniversary of the 1862 defense of Cincinnati, a memorial monument to the Black Brigade was dedicated in Smale Park in 2012. The monument features three life-size bronze figures, relief panels, and poetry. The names of all 700 soldiers in the Black Brigade are etched in stone.

Marian Spencer Statue

85 E Mehring Way, 45202 (The Banks)
Admission is free
A statue of the civil rights activist and politician Marian Spencer was installed in Smale Park in 2021. The sculpture displays Mrs. Spencer holding the hands of two young children, a boy and a girl. Her other hand is open, enabling her to receive the hands of generations of park visitors.

An international state-of-the-art, outdoor interactive permanent tourism attraction celebrating the impact of the region’s Black musicians. Listen, learn, dance, sing, and feel the energy and soul of these fantastic artists.

Operates a world-class fire safety education program to teach participants how to prevent fires within the home, protect themselves, and escape should a fire occur. Educators lead a tour and discussion through various rooms in a mock home. In each room, various fire and burn hazards are demonstrated, and explanations of how each can cause a fire and what can be done to prevent it.

The all-volunteer staff continues to work to conserve and enhance the historic environment of law enforcement, broaden public access, and increase understanding of policing now and in the past. The staff works diligently and almost daily to obtain, identify, preserve, and interpret more than 10,000 law enforcement artifacts and archives.
