AALDP provides a unique experience for leaders of color to open doors and make a difference in their communities.

In the Urban League’s African American Leadership Development Program (AALDP), participants will complete a mentally, physically, and philosophically challenging journey of personal and professional development.

The African American Leadership Development Program is an immersive civic learning program that provides a rare opportunity for leaders to refine their personal and professional skills. AALDP participants work together to discover themselves, delve into critical community issues and explore lessons in leadership from senior leaders and advisers. The ten-month experience is both challenging and stimulating.

The prestigious AALDP is entering its 29th year and has graduated more than 800 leaders who are part of the fabric of the Greater Cincinnati community and communities across the United States. AALDP graduates continue to engage in key community issues and learning by joining the alumni network.

Session Information:

AALDP cohorts meet monthly for full-day sessions from September to June, including several retreats. The sessions focus on the critical issues facing Cincinnati and leaders of color, including health and wellness, culture, diversity, human services, education and government.

Participation is critical for the success of the program. Most AALDP sessions are held on the first Friday of the month, beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at approximately 5 p.m. Saturday sessions start at 8 a.m. and end no later than 2 p.m.

Tuition Information:

This premier professional development opportunity for Black and African American leaders costs $3,850 per participant. Tuition includes all materials, program meals, transportation and excursion costs.
