Getting Started with Wedding Planning
Are you unfamiliar with what a wedding planning timeline looks like? Brides.com offers an in-depth timeline that describes at what point you should begin planning each aspect of your wedding.
As you brainstorm ideas, Black Bride offers tons of wedding styles, trends, and first look ideas that benefit not only the bride and groom but also the entire wedding party and give you the best wedding possible. You found the right partner, now it’s time to find the right wedding planner. Black Bride also offers items to keep in mind when searching for the perfect wedding planner.
Obtaining a Marriage License
Looking to get married but still need your marriage license? Marriage licenses are issued by the County Clerk’s office. You must get married in the state of your marriage license.
Out-of-State residents getting married elsewhere must obtain a license in the County where the ceremony will take place. Their license will only be valid in that County.
The Hamilton County Probate Court or the Campbell County Clerk offer resources such as marriage license requirements and an online marriage license application.
Avoiding Wedding Scams
Say yes to the dress, but no to scams. The Identity Theft Resource Center offers a few possible ways those planning a wedding can fall victim to a scam. Since the average wedding can be quite costly, the Better Business Bureau advises engaged couples and their families to make wise consumer decisions when planning a wedding, as at other times.
Before you sign on the dotted line, or pay any deposits, it’s prudent to check with the Division of Consumer Affairs to avoid any potential problems.
