Free admission to some of the coolest attractions in Hamilton County awaits with the Cincinnati Public Library’s Discovery Pass.

 

The Discovery Pass unlocks museums like the American Sign Museum, the Cincinnati Art Museum, Taft Museum, and the Cincinnati Museum Center. Visit the museums to learn about art, science, culture, and history.

You can also enjoy nature with the Discovery Pass. Visit the Great Parks of Hamilton County to hike, bike, and picnic, or the Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum to enjoy engaging outdoor installations.

A good-standing library card is all you need to enjoy these unique places.

To Get a Library Card

If you don’t have a library card yet, don’t worry. Getting a library card is easy and free. Individuals can sign up online or at any of the 41 branches in the area. Just bring a photo ID and proof of address. If under 18, a parent or guardian is needed to sign up. A library card is available to anyone who lives, works, or attends school in Cincinnati.

Library cards are accessible to anyone who meets any of the following criteria:

  • A resident of the State of Ohio or a property owner in Hamilton County.
  • A cardholder from a member library of the Ohio regional library system.
  • A staff member of the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library.
  • A temporary/transitional resident of Hamilton County.
  • A resident of Boone, Campbell, and Kenton counties in Kentucky and have a valid card from their local library systems, a picture ID, and an address verification.

Customers with disabilities who cannot visit the Library can sign up for a card by mail. Please get in touch with the Library at 513-369-6900 for additional information about signing up by mail.

Reserving Discovery Passes

To reserve a Discovery Pass, go to the website and choose the place and date you want to go. There are two types of passes: Print at Home and Pick Up/Return. Print at Home passes are easy to use, print them out or show them on the phone. They don’t need to return them. Pick Up/Return passes are for Great Parks and Cincinnati Museum Center. One must pick them up and return them at the same branch within a specific period.

The Discovery Pass is a great way to have fun and learn new things with family and friends. One can use it once every 30 days per customer. To learn more about the Discovery Pass, visit the local branch or the website.

A library card is not just a ticket to free attractions. It’s also a key to a world of books, movies, music, and more. One can borrow materials from the Library or download them online. You can use the computers and Wi-Fi, attend programs and events and borrow books from other libraries in Ohio. You can reserve meeting rooms or study spaces, access online education resources, and stream music and movies. For those who are into crafting, there are 3D printers, laser cutters, and other tools to create amazing things.
