‘AddnAide’ Brings Flexible Hours to Part-Time Workers Interested in Helping Older Adults 


Earn up to $15 an hour as a PCA helping older adults remain independent in their homes.


Who is eligible to receive compensation as an in-home care provider?

  • Family members and loved ones who provide compassionate care to older adults residing in Hamilton or Warren counties in Ohio, enrolled in the Elderly Services Program, approved for AddnAide, and eligible for services. Payments for services are not deducted from the older adult’s income, savings, or social security payments.  
  • Compassionate caregivers seeking flexible part-time employment as a PCA helping older adults navigate daily living duties at home while moving closer to their personal goals. 

AddnAide personal care assistants do not require special training, education, or certifications. The requirements to assist with in-home care are as follows:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Have access to reliable transportation
  • Pass a background check
  • Have an interest in part-time work in Hamilton or Warren counties

Being an at-home caregiver using AddnAide is an excellent alternative to other similar part-time employment, temporary jobs, or seasonal work. Who is eligible to receive care from an in-home care provider?

If you’re enrolled in the Elderly Services Program (ESP), you can hire your own aide (employee). By creating a profile in AddnAide, you’ll be able to view profiles of people in our community who can provide services to help you remain independent in your home.

If you need help staying independent in your home, please contact Council on Aging to talk to an expert about what programs or resources are available. Depending on your needs, this may include evaluation for the Elderly Services Program. You can reach Council on Aging by phone at 513-721-1025.



What to expect as a PCA

With AddnAide, in-home care helpers select preferred hours, locations, and the number of clients as desired, as well as which of the following non-medical tasks to perform:

  • Light housekeeping
  • Meal preparation
  • Companionship
  • Homemaking
  • Errands
  • Respite
  • Chores

By matching user profiles, AddnAide increases the compatibility of part-time in-home care helpers and older adults, improves communication, teaches best practices for in-home non-medical care, and distributes timely payments.

AddnAide Application Process

AddnAide taps the efficiency of technology and the connectivity of social media. The mobile app provides a secure, convenient, and practical experience for helpers and older adults. Follow these steps to register on AddnAide:

  • Download the free AddnAide app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store, or visit
  • Sign-up with a Social Security number, email address, and mailing address
  • Select desired tasks for in-home services, availability, and distance preferences
  • Add work experience and, if applicable, certifications, education, and related credentials
  • Sign up for the background test (Applicants do not pay for the background check process.)
  • Connect with the older adult (or designated individual) to confirm services, hours, and compensation

Fully populated profiles will likely receive more and better matches for home care jobs. Preferences and experiences can be edited anytime. Participants can also work with more than one older adult.

Older adults who need assistance review profiles and contact potential part-time in-home care helpers for further discussions. The older adult (or their designated representative) directly employs part-time in-home care helpers. Pay rates are up to $15 per hour.

Council on Aging’s AddnAide app is safe and easy to use. By registering on the mobile app, PCAs in Cincinnati can quickly and safely match with older adults seeking non-medical assistance.

The two parties will discuss the terms of the work agreement, such as pay rate, duties to be performed, and hours to be worked. The app’s user interface is seamless, safe, and easy for both parties.
